Gajar Ka Halwa | Gajrela Recipe | Punjabi Home Style Gajar Ka Halwa
Gajar ka halwa, also known as gajar halwa, gajrela, gajar pak, and carrot halwa is a carrot-based sweet dessert. It is made by placing grated carrots in a pot containing milk and mava, cardamom and then cooking while stirring regularly. At last when carrot cooks completely we add sugar. It is often served with a garnish of almonds, cashew and pistachios.This dessert is traditionally eaten during all of the festivals in India, but mainly on the occasion of Diwali, Holi and Raksha Bandhan. It is a winters recipe too because best quality carrots can be seen in market during winters.
